Day #11

The Story of Rudolph

The Story of Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer

Hollósi-Szentpéteri Kati sings you and Hidegh Rita tells you the story of Rudolf, the most special reindeer. Enjoy!

Once upon a time, there lived a reindeer who had a very shiny red nose. Everybody made fun of him. They called him Rudolph, the red nose reindeer. All of the other reindeer used to laugh him and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games. That made him sad. 🙁 He felt very lonely.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa Claus was preparing his sledge that was supposed to be pulled by eight reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixon, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen, but that night the weather was very foggy and they couldn’t see anything. Santa was thinking hard how to deliver the presents to the children. Then he suddenly saw Rudolph’s shiny red nose and said „Rudolph, with your nose so shiny and bright, you can help us. Will you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Rudolph helped them and he was so happy and proud. Despite the heavy snowfall, they could reach every chimney safely. This action made Rudolph the bravest and most popular reindeer. He became a hero. And everybody praised his bright red nose. 🙂

You can find the lyrics below:

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose
and if you ever saw it
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
play in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
“Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you’ll go down in history!
